Instrument & Bow Exhibition
Festival participants and visitors are invited to explore a distinguished exhibition of fine instruments and bows by leading international makers. The exhibition provides a rare opportunity to compare different styles, traditions, periods, and price ranges in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Renowned makers present current work and new developments, while major music publishers offer recent and Urtext editions from the cello repertoire. Accessories are available on site.
Instrument repairs and sound adjustments can be arranged during the festival, and all instruments, bows, and accessories may be tried and purchased directly at the exhibition.
Whether you are a professional musician, student, or enthusiastic listener, the exhibition is an essential part of the festival experience.
The makers will be present, some will be working at their benches and all will be available to meet and to discuss their work. All of the instruments and bows in the exhibition are available for trial and most are available for sale. An instrument and bow maintenance and repair service will also be available at the exhibit.
An international exhibition of fine contemporary violin and bow making runs throughout the festival and displays instruments and bows from some of the leading makers in the field. The exhibition is comprised of both baroque and modern violin, viola, cello and double bass and baroque, transitional and modern bows.
